Help build the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.
How much fun can you have in one day? Find out when you register to be a volunteer with Atlanta CEO Council as we staff BizTown at Junior Achievement’s Chick-Fil-A Foundation Discovery Center on Friday, October 31. From 8:00 am – 2:30 pm, we will help middle school students as they implement what they have learned about executive leadership, entrepreneurship and what it takes to run a profitable business. The student could be the CFO of Purchasing Power, a bank branch manager, the CEO of NCR or an entrepreneur in our own storefront, stArTLe. The day at BizTown is their capstone experience to a curriculum they have studied for weeks learning about product development, marketing, inventory management, sales and the all important balance sheet. To request an invitation, please contact the Council.
The Atlanta CEO Council created the start up entrepreneur-focused storefront stArTLe in the Discovery Center as a community collaboration of the the Council, the Advanced Technology Development Center of Georgia Tech, Coles College of Kennesaw State University, Entrepreneur’s Organization, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Technology Association of Georgia and Atlanta Tech Village. stArTLe teaches students the basic concepts of creating and running a technology business.
The Discovery Center just finished its first year of operation and the impact on more than 30,000 school children is tremendous. At an early age, these youngsters are learning about and being inspired to pursue careers in all types of businesses and the importance of staying in school to achieve their goals.
