The Atlanta CEO Council is again supporting the Ron Clark Academy by offering our members the opportunity to participate in funding scholarships for students. Last year, members donated $44,750 – enough to fund 2.5 tuitions. This was primarily through the GOAL scholarship program which allows donors to direct a portion of their Georgia income taxes towards the provision of scholarships to deserving families. In exchange for your contribution, you receive a Georgia income tax credit. Plus, if you itemize deductions on your federal income tax return, your contribution to GOAL will be deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes.
The state law caps the allowable tax credits at $50 million and it is expected that cap will be reached by the end of August.
To allow our members to take advantage of the tax credit and contribute to the Ron Clark Academy, Mindy Jones, a board member of RCA, will be at our next event to explain the program, provide the forms, notarize forms and work with you to make a decision about participating in the scholarship program.
