Dr. Amy Baxter

“Disruptive innovation” is what we all hope to bring to the marketplace through ideas, products and companies. Dr. Amy Baxter, an innovator in pain management and entrepreneur, is employing her low-tech product to disrupt the traditional approach to injections and positively impact public health.  Her research on pain, fear and health incorporates pain management as part of standard treatment for vaccinations, diabetes treatment, blood donation and more.

As our August 25 #OBISeries presentation, Dr. Baxter will discuss how patients’ fear of needles and its harmful consequences for public health led her to become an entrepreneur,  how she is disrupting the medical community’s approach to fear of shots and how becoming an entrepreneur disrupted her approach to medicine.

Amy Baxter is a CEO, inventor, founder and practicing pediatric emergency doctor. Her company, MMJ Labs,  has received more than $1 million in grant funding for personal pain products, including Buzzy®.  Buzzy® was recognized with a Medical Design Excellence Award in 2010 and is currently being used in more than 1200 hospitals.

Join the Atlanta CEO Council, Monday, August 25 to hear Dr. Baxter. To request an invitation, contact the Atlanta CEO Council.
