Shauvik Roy Choudhary

Dr. Shauvik Roy Choudhary is the Co-Founder & CEO of MoQuality, where he works on building cutting edge testing and support tools for mobile apps. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Georgia Tech and his work was focused on techniques for cross-platform testing and maintenance for web and mobile applications. Mitch began his career as an apprentice machinist and developed a passion for applying advanced manufacturing technologies. Northwest Airlines recruited him to develop methods to reverse engineer and produce aircraft parts. Samir is an engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit. He is currently co-founder and CEO of Moonlight Therapeutics. Moonlight Therapeutics is focused on improving the quality of life for people with food allergies by providing patient-friendly treatments. Prior to Moonlight Therapeutics, Samir was a co-founder of Clearside Biomedical (NASDAQ: CLSD). Clearside is an ophthalmic pharmaceutical company developing targeted therapies for ocular diseases. He invented the suprachoroidal technology that lead to the creation of Clearside Biomedical and served as Director of Research from inception to the end of 2016. The company is currently in late-stage clinical trials in multiple indications and completed an IPO in 2016. Prior to that he was at Georgia Institute of Technology where he obtained his doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering and focused on research using microneedles for ocular drug delivery. He worked for Alza Corporation (A J&J company) on controlled release oral drug products between his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Samir obtained a dual B.S. degree in Chemical and Material Science Engineering from University of California at Berkeley.

The Sewbots® automate the transfer and sewing of fabric, eliminating the need for trained seamstresses. SoftWear technology allows for redesign of the apparel manufacturing supply chain and enables sewing to be performed locally resulting in a disruptive transformation of the industry.

He is also Managing Partner of CTW Venture Partners, an early stage venture capital fund which invests in and assists seed and early-stage entrepreneurs in all industries in Atlanta and the South Eastern United States who are engaged in disruptive innovations and technologies. After that, Cision was acquired for $2.7 Billion in a private equity transaction by Platinum Equity.

He was a co-founder of e-VERIFILE in his teens and helped build the company into one of the largest privately held data software companies in the nation. This led the company to being acquired and resulted in being one of the most profitable exits ever for investors in a southeast technology company, and won Deal of the Year when he was in his twenties.

He was named the most powerful person in Atlanta business under 30, and was honored as a “Who’s Who” across the nation in technology. He was a member of the Atlanta Technology Angels and was named to be on it’s board of directors and then later took over as President, which helped lead the turnaround of angel investing in Atlanta. Mr. Wijesinghe is a member of Young President’s Organization and part of the Southern 7 Chapter and a member of the Atlanta CEO Council.

He also serves as a mentor catalyst in the Advanced Technology Development Center at Georgia Tech to help young tech companies commercialize their ideas and rapidly grow their companies.
